Acai “Berry Good” Bowl

I love Acai Berry Bowls. Like the kind of love that if I were stranded on an island and could only pick 1 dish to have with me…yup Acai I am looking at you!

These beauty bowls have become such a trend that more and more places are starting to serve them. If you are currently thinking, what exactly is an Acai Bowl…? No worries! I got you!

Acai Berry Bowls are a deliciously thick smoothie bowl, with the main ingredient being Acai Berries. These berries are grown in the Amazon Rainforest and beautiful dark purple/blue color (resembles a blueberry). They are also loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

While creating this smoothie bowl, I love to add a frozen banana to it. Not only does it make the consistency even thicker (I LOVE thick smoothies) it adds a nice sweetness to it. I have heard of people who don’t like bananas, and I honestly can’t understand them.

The hardest part of this recipe is finding the Acai berries. They are slowly making their way to local supermarkets, and I usually find them at my health market. These berries come in frozen packets sweetened and unsweetened. I use the unsweetened packets and top with deliciously insane simple toppings, such as fruits, some nut butter, coconut flakes, and granola. Feel free to play around with different toppings, and see what you already have on hand:)

Let’s make some bowls!
