See ya never, 2020! 🍾 This Drunken Orange Cake is a celebratory and festive way to ring in the new year. Featuring Triple Sec (very versatile alcohol), Orange Juice, and Orange Zest, this cake really packs a punch!

Ingredients

Scale

Cake:

1 & 1/4 cups white sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp. orange zest

1/4 cup triple sec

1/4 cup orange juice

1/2 cup  canola oil

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. salt

2 cups flour

Glaze:

1/3 cup powdered sugar

2 tsp. orange juice

1 tsp. orange zest

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325˙
  • In medium bowl mix sugar, eggs, and orange zest until just combined
  • Add in the rest of wet ingredients (triple sec, orange juice, oil) and mix.
  • Add in the dry ingredients (baking soda, baking powder, salt, flour) and stir until just combined
  • Spray a bundt pan with floured cooking spray or grease and flour your bundt pan
  • Make sure not to over grease your pan or the outside of your cake could “fry” and become crispy. A light coating is all you need
  • Bake for 35 minutes until golden brown on top
  • After removing from oven wait 10 minutes or until cake is only slightly warm and flip onto a serving plate.
  • When the cake has fully cooled mix the glaze ingredients together and drizzle it over the cake

Notes

The zest of 1 medium orange should be enough for both the cake and the glaze

This recipe can also be made in a single bundt pan – the bake time is the same
