Gingerbread Latte

We are all about a Latte of Good Vibes.

Don’t you just love food puns, especially coffee ones:)

I love this time of year, there are lights everywhere, good happy vibes in the air, and all cafes bringing out their best holiday drinks. This Gingerbread Latte is the perfect drink for those cold winter nights. Make this latte, cuddle up with a blanket and good book, and you’ve got yourself some pure bliss.

The Gingerbread syrup is made up of a beautiful combo of aromatic spices and some brown sugar to give that perfect hint of a molasses flavor. Mix with coffee, steamed milk, topped with whipped cream and I can not begin to espresso to you how good this drink really is!

So if your feeling cold, a little brew (ok ok last one!) or need a warm hug in a cup make sure to check this recipe out!

Cheers!

Ingredients

Scale

Gingerbread syrup:

2 cups water

2/3 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp sliced fresh ginger

2 cinnamon sticks

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1-2 shots of Espresso

1 cup Milk of choice

*whipped cream

Instructions

Syrup:

Dissolve sugar into water bringing it to a boil. Then add all spices, ginger, and vanilla, give it a mix and reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes.

Assemble drink: pour in 1/4 cup of the syrup (feel free to add more) to a mug and 1- 2 shots of espresso coffee (depends how strong you like it). *Froth milk and pour it in, and top with whipped cream.

Notes

*whipped cream is optional but highly recommended!

*If you don’t have a milk frother, skip this step and just heat the milk through. Frothing means air bubbles are created in the milk so it has a foamy texture.
