Thanksgiving In A Boureka with Gravy Sauce

Ingredients

Bourekas:

Puff Pastry square sheets

Fillings of your choice: leftover turkey (shredded), mashed potatoes, stuffing etc

Gravy Sauce:

3 tbsp Non dairy butter

3 Garlic cloves, minced

3 tbsp Flour

1 1/2 cups of Chicken broth

1 1/2 cups Beef broth

1/2 tsp Dried Thyme

* 1/2 tsp Trader Joes “Everything but the leftovers” Seasoning

Dash of pepper

Instructions

Preheat oven 375 degrees

Fill the bourekas and place on lined baking sheet. Brush with some egg wash and this is optional but sprinkle with some sesame and poppy seeds.

Bake for around 20-25 minutes. Bourekas should be nice and golden

Gravy Sauce:

On medium heat, melt the butter and add in the garlic. Sautee for  about a minute, until garlic is fragrant (we don’t want to brown it!) Then add the flour and cook for another 1-2 minutes, making sure there are no lumps.

Whisk in both broths and the rest of the seasonings. Turn up the flame a bit and continue to whisk. The sauce will start to thicken. This will take about a few minutes. Once you can coat lightly the back of a spoon, it’s ready.

Notes

*if you don’t have the trader joes seasoning feel free to leave it out. The following herbs are in it, so if you have any of them you can put in a dash of each.

Dehydrated onion, sea salt, yeast extract, salt, ground black pepper, dried yeast, turmeric powder, natural flavor, dried celery seed, ground sage, rosemary powder, dried thyme, dried parsley.
